Fumbling along with a smile on my face

I have been encountering simple delights in my quest for progress this summer.

Within the past two weeks, I had my first piano lesson. You should hear my scales!

Thanks to Jenny, I have since attached sleigh bells on a string to the knob of our back door. Miss Lola Butters now jingles the bell with her nose whenever she wants to be let out. We’ve got ourselves a little learner! Now, if she’d just learn to leave my Kermit alone, we’d be all set.

I completed two books, and have three in rotation. Check these out!

I have yet to find my tweezers, but took on five more of my Pins. To start, I made blueberry syrup and took my thumbprint for a dip.

I made Brown sugar cookie bars for the fourth of July and made them my own by adding peanut butter and butterscotch chips. Nom nom nom.fixins_june_32

I figured out a way to use some of our wine corks and stamped this cute little turnip.

And I tried a new watercolor technique on my first sketch of Once Upon a Time Homes.

I’ve been experiencing my ups and my downs to the full; this summer has got me spinning.IMG_1322

Sounds like you have been having fun. I always wanted to learn to play the piano, my cousins all did, and I was exceedingly jealous.

There’s still time!! I can relate to your childhood longing. My own mother took piano lessons against her wished (she wanted to take dance classes instead.) It seems she was not going to force any of us kids into taking piano lessons!

If I’m being honest, my adoration for the aesthetics of synchronized swimming inspired it!! I just may have to find a high traffic spot for it because it brings me plenty of joy!

My three books are now down to two – I finished Simon Weisenthal’s The Sunflower: and the Possibilities and Limits of Forgiveness during my trip. I continue to press on in The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay and a re-read of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

You inspire me so much! Holy moly you are such a whiz – you need a TV show (webcast?).

The Dinner was effectively suspenseful and, ultimately, chilling. The fact that the entire story takes place through the course of a single dinner is masterful. I wish I had a book club, because I’ve been aching to discuss it with someone!

I have a couple of books on the go at the moment, but as soon as the back log clears, I will check it out!
